First home was in the Lloyd C. Douglas home on North Main Street in Columbia City. Later moved to Roanoke & Huntington. Buried Greenhill Cemetery. Obituary in CC paper.

Janet L. Walker, 79, of Huntington, died May 7, 2001 at her home.

Mrs. Walker had worked for the Lincoln National Bank in the stock transfer department for 10 years and for the Irmscher Company in Fort Wayne for two years. She had also worked at the Columbia City License Bureau while she was in high school.

She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Roanoke, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), member at large of the Delta Theta Tau and the Huntington County Republican Women's Club.

She was born June 25, 1921 in Columbia City to Ford H. and Lois M. Rhoades Goble. She attended the West Ward Grade School in Columbia City, graduated from Columbia City High School in 1939 and attended Purdue University for two years.

She married Roger S. Walker on June 12, 1946. They lived in Columbia City until 1967 when they purchased a home in Roanoke. Mr. Walker died on February 20, 1982, and Mrs. Walker moved to Huntington in September of 1988.

Survivors include a brother, Willis R. Goble, Columbia City; and a sister, Mary Lois Larson, Fort Myers, Fla. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Ann, and a sister, Barbara Dimitry.

There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Greenhill Cemetery in Columbia City with Rev. Glenn Howenstein officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Christ United Methodist Church in Roanoke, in care of Smith and Sons Funeral Home, 207 N. Main Street, Columbia City, IN 46725.
