Vivian Cearbaugh Gordon, 89, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, at home.

Born in Belmore, Ohio, on April 14, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Malinda (Amstutz) Miller.

She attended Brookside Community Church and was a member of Northeast Fort Wayne Optimist Club, Early Bird Toastmasters Club, Tri -State Allied Florist Association, Study Connection and the Fort Wayne Garden Club.

She was active in S.C.O.R.E. and Burmese and Vietnamese groups in Fort Wayne and was founder of Crossroads Flowers & Antiques, retiring in 1994.

Survivors include her children, Malinda (Dennis) Bennett of Grabill, Glenna Buuck of Urbana, Ohio and William Cearbaugh of Fort Wayne; stepchildren, Jerry (Deb) Gordon of Hoagland and Marilyn (Richard) Hines of New Jersey; 15 grandchildren, six step grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur "Bill" Cearbaugh in 1987 (see webmaster note below); second husband, Kenneth Gordon in 2004; daughters, Karon Lamaster and Trudy Spears in 1995; half-brother, David Miller; half-sisters, Gladys MacDonald, Leta Miller and Anna Denhart; sister, Betty Schrader Corbin and son-in-law Chuck Buuck.

The funeral service is 2 p.m. Sunday at Brookside Church, 6102 Evard Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to service. Burial at Oak Grove Compton Cemetery, Columbia City. Calling is 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Road 930 E., New Haven, Indiana. Preferred memorials to Matthew 25.

Webmaster Note: Records by Vivan's classmates show she married Harvey Richard Cearbaugh, Class of 1937, and that he passed away in 1993.
