Mary R.B. Reed, born April 11, 1917, to Clarence Ellet Beck and Zera Boiler Beck, in Berne, Indiana, died Oct. 12,2008, in Oklahoma City.

She was an alumnus of Hanover College in Hanover, IN. Mary was an administrative assistant at Farnsworth Television and Radio Corporation and for Group Health Cooperative on Wall St. in New York City.

Following World War II, she and her husband relocated to Oklahoma City, where she was associated with the County Attorney's office, County Clerk's office and the County Commissioners. She also served as administrative assistant to the house minority leaders in the State Legislature and as Post Mistress of the House of Representatives for several sessions during the 1960's.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Rhea Bower of Van Buren, IN. Mary is survived by her husband of 68 years, James L. Reed and children, James L. Reed, III and wife, Mary, Leslie A. Hackney and husband, William C., David E. Reed and wife, Anna, Philip R. Reed and Jonathan B. Reed and wife, Amy. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two sisters, Marjorie Wallis of Farmington Hills, ML and Corrine Dibble and husband, Al of Muncie, IN and many nieces and nephews.

Closed casket public visitation will be Wed., Oct 15, between 8am and 9pm. with a private service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Oklahoma City Repertory Theater-City Rep, P.O. Box 1913, Oklahoma City, OK 73101.
