Leon "Butch" M. Wysong, 63, a lifetime Whitley County resident, died at Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at home.

Born in Whitley County on May 17, 1944, a son of Donald "Buck" and Grace (Cramer) Wysong, he graduated with the Class of 1963, from Columbia City High School.

From 1963 to 1968, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

On May 28, 1972, he was united in marriage to Sandra Alberding of Fort Wayne.

A retiree from Dana Corporation, Fort Wayne, he worked as a general laborer until 2006. He was a member of the VFW, Columbia City.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sandra; a sister, Kay Meeks of Columbia City, two nephews and a niece. His parents preceded him in death.

Honoring Mr. Wysong's request, there is no visitation or service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given in memory of Mr. Wysong to the Epilepsy Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Arrangements are entrusted to DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home in Columbia City.
