went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 78.

Jeri was born on October 28th, 1943 in Columbia City, Indiana to Robert and Martha Maggart, and grew up with a younger brother, Steve Maggart, who preceded her in death.

Jeri was also preceded in death by her husband, Don "D.G." Swoverland in 2018. She is survived by her three children: son, Tyler (Robert) Swoverland, son, Trenton (Kristie) Swoverland and daughter, Temple Harris. Along with her six grandchildren: Remington (Mason) Keebler, Reece Swoverland, Rhya Swoverland, Rhett Swoverland and Cameron Harris and Addison Harris.

As a young girl, Jaralee grew up on a farm, was involved in 4H, went to Walnut Grove Church and discovered her fetish for purses. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1962 where she met her lifelong best friends and Canasta group, learned her love for baking and found her niche in caregiving as a Nurse's Aide at Whitley County Hospital. It was here, at Whitley County Hospital, that Jaralee would be introduced to her future husband and best friend, Don "D.G." Swoverland, who, after 6 weeks of dating, would marry and stay the love of of each other’s lives for 54 years.

It was in these 54 plus years that Jeri would fulfill her purpose God created her for; Caregiving. As a dedicated wife, self-sacrificing mother, beloved daughter, doting grandmother and loyal friend, Jeri took caregiving to a whole other level, always putting others before herself.

Jeri fought through 22 years of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, endured bilateral knee replacements, a broken femur, a hip replacement, and a battle with breast cancer. But in the midst of it all, she still managed to take care of and be there for everyone else, rarely complain, find a way to continually laugh at herself and genuinely love those around her, until her body was finally worn down by the battle and she finally had to accept being given care for herself. Jeri died at home in Hospice care surrounded by those who loved her.

Funeral services will be 12 pm Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Churubusco United Methodist Church, 750 N Main St., Churubusco with visitation beginning at 10 am. Pastor Rev. John Huff will be officiating.

Memorial donations may be given in memory to Stillwater Hospice or Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.">
