of Columbia City, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 6.

She was born May 29, 1941, in rural Whitley County, a daughter of the late H. John and Ilene (Snapp) Hoffman. Growing up in Columbia City, she attended grade school and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1959.

In a June wedding that year, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard E. Jones, who survives, and they have always made their home in Columbia City.

Among other community endeavors, they were instrumental in the establishment of Columbia City's chapter of Jaycees, and active members of FOE.

Following her retirement after many years in the offices of Ft. Wayne Pools, Cindy turned her passion to pin money. A familiar face at local farmers' markets, her award-winning pies were a popular favorite.

"The Pie Lady" also enjoyed cooking, reading, quilting, sewing and collecting. Many who first came many years ago for her sausage-sauerkraut-and- "neffies" on New Year's Day, return year after year for the fellowship and unique fare.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, she is survived by a son, Craig (Shelley) Jones; a daughter, Paige (Brian) Harvey; a grandson, Jake (Sarah) Harvey, all of Richmond, VA; a grandson, Andrew Jones, of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Marsha Hoffman, of Columbia City, and Teresa Sakraida, of Boca Rotan, FL; and one brother, Michael (Lynne) Hoffman, of Columbia City.

She was proceeded in death by a son, Chad (Linda) Jones.

There will be no service. Arrangements by Neptune Society.

Preferred memorials are to the Whitley County Humane Society shelter.
