She was employed 35 years for United Telephone, working in Columbia City and Warsaw as an operator, retiring in 1986.

Surviving relatives include four step children, Claude V. (Deb) Myers Jr. of Pierceton, Mollie E. (Russell) Starkey of Albion, Tonya G. (Terry) Staker of Fort Wayne and John H. (Brenda) Myers of C
olumbia City; 10 step grandchildren; 19 step great grandchildren; and Dorothy M. Miller of Columbia City.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter and a sister, Helen I. Rose.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in South Park Annex Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to Riley Children's Hospital.
