Tin Roofs? Lime Phosphates? What was the one that had a squirt of all the flavors?
A Checkerboard. Debby Sheets waits on L-R Jody Walter, Lynne Argerbright, Judy Whiteleather, Lucy Langohr & Sam Fruits at Rexall Drug Store, 120 W. Van Buren St.. Columbia Drug, 304 W. Van Buren, was another soda fountain hangout in the 1950s.

Cars + Teenagers = Fun! Some things don't change in 45 years!
Remember Brenda's car? The passenger side was dented the first day she had it, when a lady ran the stop sign at the corner of Whitley & Jackson streets & hit her.
Cars allowed us to cruise the local drive-ins:
Schang's Drive-In, just west of CC on U.S. 30, as it appeared in the 1950s. Blain & Vera Schang began and operated the drive-in from 1950 to 1959 to put their kids through college.

Just north of the present Dairy Queen was The Barrel, a teenage hangout in CC from just before WW II to 1968, tho it "rolled" across the street.

Wheeler's B & K was built by Richard &Velma Wheeler in 1955 on
the east side of CC across from The 30 Club on U.S. 30. In 1995 our
classmate Jack Hyndman & wife Cathy purchased the property for a business.
After many people stopped to ask when they'd have the root beer stand
open, Jack became interested in the idea and contacted the Wheelers. "They
gave me advice and the original recipes of some of their food, "Jack said.
CJ's opened in 1995 and is still going strong. Jack paved the lot before

At least I'm pretty sure Kaye (Roberta) France no longer dresses like this!
